Eagle Project Reviews
Eagle Project Reviews are scheduled for the Second and Fourth Thursday of each
month at the Beaverton Stake Center, lower level, 4195 SW 99th Ave., Beaverton beginning at 7pm. Boys seeking
Eagle Project approvals, advice, or changes to their project can attend on a first come, first served basis.
Boys should plan ahead to secure project approvals. Not all approvals can of grated on the first review of a
project. If requested, scouts should plan to do some follow-up assignments. Scouts should complete and bring
their Eagle Project Notebook complete with a project description. Eagle packets and the current issue of the
Eagle Project Notebook can be found on the National Eagle Scout Association (NESA) Website.
The following is the link for the Eagle Project Notebook.

Volunteering for Eagle Project Reviews Committee
We are always looking for volunteers to serve on
Eagle Project Reviews. There are a few things you
need to know before considering participating on an
official board of the district advancement
committee.
Part of the work toward becoming an Eagle Scout is meeting the expectation that the Scout is mature enough to
follow directions, write his ideas clearly, and present his proposal so that others can understand
his plans and could actually complete the project without any further involvement by the Scout.
The
Project Review Committee has a requirement that
the Sunset Trail District checklist be
completed as part of the review process. The
check list assists the Eagle Project Committee by
offering a list items to review with the Scout. The
volunteers on the Committee spend a
lot of time reviewing the individual
proposals and want each proposal to be
complete, accurate, and acceptable from the start.
This is not always possible to achieve. The end
goal for any Scout to to achieve is an Eagle
Project Proposal that meets all the standards of
BSA and the council advancement committee.
One of
the most significant aspects of Eagle Scout
projects is the demonstration of leadership
knowledge and skills. An important part of
the proposal is to explain in writing the
leadership aspects of the project.
This is NOT a discussion of how the Scout will
supervise certain tasks in his
project, but rather which skills will be needed and
how he expects to use leadership
abilities with the people recruited to assist with
the project. You have no leadership project
without other people. The chosen activity --
whatever it is -- is a secondary objective. The
primary objective is to demonstrate
leadership.
